also known as wireless ad hoc network or ad hoc wireless network, is a continuously self-configuring, infrastructure-less network of mobile devices connected wireless MANET stands for Mobile Ad-hoc Network. This type of networks do not need any physical infrastructure to operate these networks use all available devices in networks which are capable of wireless data transmission it can be any mobile phone, ATM machine, router or satellite etc. These mobile nodes in the network are free to travel around in the network without any restriction and if some node is out of range then the connection for a data transfer is automatically shifted to another nearby present node.There is no need of central organisation to interfere for data transmission as it is infrastructure less model. However on other hand side it can be an issue as there is no proper track of data transmission and it will be hard to track lost data.
